Closed End Fund Screener |
Closed End Funds (CEFs) are a unique investment category for numerous reasons, one of which is that each CEF's IPO (initial public offering) raises a defined amount of equity capital in exchange for a defined number of shares. The CEF's shares are then listed on a major US stock exchange and can be traded throughout the day just like any regular stock. What this dynamic sets up for the trading price of a closed end fund is that its trading price can become divorced from the underlying per-share net asset value of the fund, simply based upon supply and demand forces in the market. This works both ways, i.e. shares of a closed end fund can trade below net asset value (NAV) but also above it. On this page we present helpful closed end fund screener links to help you identify CEFs worth investigating further. |
